Bartow, Fla. (June. 17, 2020) – Clerk Stacy Butterfield, Polk County Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller, announces the release of a new program that allows individuals to quickly find the location of their courtroom or the link to their virtual hearing for criminal case hearings.

The new system is called “Find My Courtroom”, and users can access the application on the Clerk’s website. The app includes criminal case information; additional case types will be added within the coming week.

“The lasting impacts of COVID-19 have made technological optimization more critical than ever to keeping the court system up and running,” Clerk Butterfield said. “The majority of all court hearings are occurring remotely via phone and video, so providing customers with an easy to use courtroom app helps them navigate an increasingly virtual system of justice. Most importantly, Find My Courtroom balances safety and access by minimizing close contact between staff and customers while providing an easy way for customers to find where they need to go.”

Users can access the Find My Courtroom app and virtual hearing information at www.polkcountyclerk.net/find-my-courtroom.  For questions, call the Clerk’s office at 863-534-4000.
