Polk County Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller Stacy M. Butterfield, CPA, has established new procedures for those seeking an Injunction for Protection during the COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak.

These procedures will help to protect the public and Clerk staff by limiting the amount of in-person contact needed to file an injunction.

Petitioners can now download the packet from the Clerk’s website or pick up a paper packet at the Clerk Drop Desk at the entrance of the Bartow courthouse. The packet has detailed information about injunctions and steps for how to file the paperwork.

The petitioner will be able to file electronically as a “Pro Se” user or submit the paperwork at the Clerk Drop Desk. Clerk staff will contact the individual when the paperwork has been reviewed by the Judge and provide instructions for retrieving the paperwork.

“Safety is our top concern during this time,” said Clerk Butterfield. “We are working around the clock to review each of our services and to determine a way to provide those services while limiting in-person interaction so that we better protect our customers and staff.”

Additional details are available at The Clerk’s office has established a COVID-19 Update web page to post all pertinent updates and changes in the office.
