The most wonderful time of the year has arrived, but it’s no secret that even the happiest of holidays come with their fair share of stress. Between travelling, shopping for gifts, and preparing to see family, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed.
With so much on our minds during this busy time, remembering to visit the courthouse to take care of business at the Clerk’s office probably isn’t at the top of your to-do list. Luckily, the Polk County Clerk’s office offers online services to save you a trip to the courthouse. With 24/7 access, here are five ways our online services are here to help make your holidays less stressful.
Access Online Records
Need to access records outside of business hours? Visiting the courthouse for copies of records is a thing of the past thanks to our online record databases. Access to court and county records is available from the comfort of home 24 hours a day, 365 days a year using Polk Records Online and Official Records online.
Use Polk Records Online to view and monitor court cases and print records for free from home.
Deeds, mortgages, and other official records dating back to 1957 are available in our Official Records Online database and can also be printed from home for free.
You can even request certified copies of records and monitor the status of existing requests using Public Information and Electronic Records on our website.
2021 eRecording Deadline
If you are submitting a document to be recorded into the official record via our eRecording services, it must be submitted before noon on Thursday, Dec. 30 to be recorded with a 2021 date. Walk-in customers will be served until our offices close at 4:30 p.m.
Make Online Payments
Did an unpaid traffic ticket slip your mind? Don’t panic—court and traffic payments can be made online at any time!
You can also jump-start the application process for a court payment plan online and check the status of your driver’s license at any time day or night.
Do-It-Yourself Court Filings
Skip the courthouse visit and prepare your own court forms in three easy steps by using our interactive TurboCourt tool for landlord-tenant disputes, injunctions for protection, or divorce cases.
Forms can be prepared from home at any time. Just register for a free account and start preparing the forms you need. You can even submit your prepared forms online using the Florida Courts E-Filing Portal.
Preparing forms for a protective injunction? Remember, there are no filing fees for injunctions for protection, and our office is available to help you with after-hours injunctions, when violence occurs outside of business hours, on weekends, and on holidays.
Jump-Start Your Marriage License Application
Planning on ringing in the new year by tying the knot? The holidays are busy, and planning a wedding is stressful. The Polk County Clerk’s office offers online marriage license applications to save you time and cut back on stress.
Jumpstart your marriage application process by filling out your application online. Once you submit your application, you have 90 days to appear in person to finalize it.
The busy holiday season can make you feel like there’s never enough time to check off every item on your to-do list. While the Polk County Clerk’s office can’t give you more time, our online marriage applications help you do the next best thing—save time.
