Save Time, Go Online—Polk County Clerk Offers New Court Payment System

Bartow, Fla. (August 7th, 2017) – Polk County residents that need to make a payment on a court case can save time by going online. The office of Stacy M. Butterfield, Clerk of Courts and Comptroller, has partnered with Civitek-- a payment solution, court case management and technical support company specializing in government services-- to provide MyFloridaCounty, a system which allows customers to pay online for fees associated with court cases. The payment website is available now, and can be accessed via the Court Case Payments link located under the “other services and information” section on the home page.

“When I was elected as the Clerk of Courts and Comptroller I made it a priority to enhance efficiency and public access by incorporating technology into the services we offer,” Clerk Butterfield said “I know how important our customers’ time is, and the MyFloridaCounty system will make court case payments quick and easy. Customers can save time and go online to make their payment—anytime and anywhere.”

Case types for which online payments can be made include Appeal from County Court (AP), Circuit Civil (CA), County Civil (CC), Felony (CF), County Ordinance (CO), Probate/Guardianship (CP), Criminal Traffic (CT), Domestic Relations (DR), Non-Criminal Infraction (IN), Misdemeanor (MM), Municipal Ordinance (MO), and Small Claims (SC).  The new system will allow partial payments to accommodate those on a payment plan.

Traffic (TR) cases will still be paid through the link to the internet site FIS/Link2Gov, located on the Traffic page of the Clerk’s website.

Users may look up their cases by name and date of birth, or by uniform case number (UCN). Once the user has located and selected their case(s), they will be able to select the amount they wish to pay. The amounts displayed are as current as the date listed on the screen. Online payments may take 3-5 days to process. A convenience fee of 3.5 percent will be charged to use this payment option, the same fee that is charged by the front counter credit card system used for payments in person.
