Access Records Online

For our Court staff and Officers of the Court:

The Polk County Clerk's website features services allowing you to search the Criminal and Civil Court databases.  With the information obtained online, you may easily identify documents available at the Clerk's Office in the Polk County courthouse. Your research can be conducted online at your convenience, seven days a week.

Online public access to court records is expected to begin late this summer, and with it comes a new and improved search system. The current systems will be discontinued once the new system is implemented.  Please be advised that the access you are registering for now will only be good until the new system is ready.  We will continue to post updates as we progress through the process.

***ATTENTION: The latest Java update has caused some users to experience problems when viewing images through the Civil Records Search.  If you're having problems, please view the fix here. ( Adobe Acrobat Reader required.)***

Who can obtain secured access to online records?
Secured access is available only to licensed Florida attorneys who have entered into a contractual arrangement with the Clerk's Office.

If you are not a licensed Florida attorney, you may access, with limited functionality, our Civil Records Online and Criminal Records Online.
How do you obtain secured access to online records?
First, please check with the other attorneys in your firm or agency to find out if you already have an agreement with the Clerk's Office.  Because it typically takes less time to add users to an existing agreement than to create a new one, we strongly suggest you query your firm to find out if you already have access.
Having verified that you do not have an agreement, you may download the agreement in PDF format.

  1. List all people you want to have access to the online records in Exhibit A.  This includes other attorneys, paralegals, and secretaries in your firm.  Please note the signing attorney is responsible for anyone listed in the exhibit.
  2. Mail the agreement to the Clerk's Office.  P.O. Box 9000, Drawer CC-20, Bartow, FL 33831.
  3. You MUST include the signer's bar number.  This will be used to verify their status as a Florida attorney.
  4. Please note we cannot release the user IDs until the original is received in our office.

How long does it take to receive access after you've signed the agreement?
Please allow up to five business days for creation of your account.
Your office already has an agreement and needs to add or remove users.
Please send a signed letter adding or removing users to P.O. Box 9000, Drawer CC-20, Bartow, FL 33831.
What if you have technical problems accessing records?
Please contact the Clerk's Office Information Technology Help Desk.

What if you have problems finding a specific record?
If your problem is not technical in nature, please contact the appropriate department to find the status of the record.
How do I get access to Criminal or Traffic records online if I already have a contract for Civil?
Since you previously entered into a contract with the Clerk’s Office for access to the Civil records, we are able to offer an amendment to include the criminal and traffic records.
